How can I enable the API?
A site-specific API key is required to access the API. API access is enabled separately from your standard Abtrac subscription and is not available by default.
A one-time setup fee of $500 + GST applies.

The API provides the raw data. The Power BI solution itself must be developed separately.
Most organisations will require someone with Power BI and API experience to create and maintain the reporting solution.
Does Abtrac provide a Power BI connector?
No.
Abtrac does not currently provide a custom Power BI connector.
The API can be used as a data source within Power BI, but customers are responsible for building the required queries, data model and reports.
Does Abtrac build Power BI dashboards?
No.
Abtrac does not build Power BI dashboards, reports or data models as part of standard API support.
If you require a custom Power BI solution, you will need to develop it internally or engage a consultant with Power BI experience.
Can I connect Abtrac to HubSpot?
Yes.
A custom integration between HubSpot and Abtrac can be developed using the API.
The specific functionality available depends on the information you want to exchange and the API endpoints available.
Abtrac does not provide a ready-to-install HubSpot connector. Any HubSpot integration must be developed and maintained separately.

Do I need the API to connect Abtrac to Xero or MYOB?
No.
Abtrac includes built-in integrations for Xero and MYOB.
If you simply want to connect Abtrac with Xero or MYOB for supported accounting functions, use the existing integration provided within Abtrac.

No. There is one key per site (company). The key uniquely identifies your company’s data and is not linked to an individual user.
Can I get another API key for another application?
No. All applications you use can access your Abtrac data using the unique key provided for your site. This means you don’t need to manage separate keys for different applications, keeping things simpler and easier to manage.
Can multiple integrations use the same API key?
Yes. All applications you use can access your Abtrac data using the unique key provided for your site. This means you don’t need to manage separate keys for different applications, keeping things simpler and easier to manage.
Can I share our API key with my developer?
Absolutely. You can share your API key with your developer if they need it to connect to your Abtrac data.
Please be aware that the API provides access to your raw Abtrac data, without the user-level restrictions or permissions that apply within Abtrac. Only share your API key with trusted developers or applications.
What happens if our API key is compromised?
Contact us immediately if you believe your API key has been compromised. We will disable the existing key and generate a new key for you.
Once the old key has been disabled, any applications using it will no longer be able to access your Abtrac data. You will need to update those applications with the new key.
Can I regenerate the API key?
No. You cannot regenerate the API key yourself. If you need a new key, contact us and we can disable the existing key and generate a new one for you.
