The Abtrac AI Assistant is built into Abtrac to provide fast, self-service help for learning features, navigating tasks, and answering common questions. It’s available 24/7, making it a convenient first point of support whenever you need guidance or want to explore Abtrac’s functionality.
While the Assistant can quickly provide answers and direct you to helpful resources, it isn’t a replacement for human support. For personalised assistance or issues the Assistant can’t resolve, handing over to the Abtrac support team is simple and straightforward.
Where to Find the Abtrac AI Assistant
You can access the Abtrac AI Assistant from the footer menu on any page in the web version of Abtrac.

The Assistant opens in a chat window on the righthand side of your monitor, allowing you to ask questions without leaving what you’re working on.

How the Abtrac AI Assistant Works
The Abtrac AI Assistant is powered by Microsoft Copilot and draws its responses from:
- The Abtrac Knowledgebase
- The Abtrac website
- In-house knowledge provided by the Abtrac support team
This information is used to source content, validate responses, and provide guidance based on known Abtrac features and best practices.
Important: The Abtrac AI Assistant is a bot, not a real person. Conversations are not monitored in real time by the support team.
The Assistant is available 24/7 and is best suited to answering general questions and helping direct your learning within Abtrac.
How to Ask the Abtrac AI Assistant a Question
You can ask questions in plain English, just as you would when speaking to a colleague or someone from the Abtrac support team.
Tips for getting the best results:
- Be as specific as possible about what you need help with
- e.g. “How do I generate an invoice in Abtrac?”
- e.g. “Where can I find timesheet reports?”
- If you’re unsure how to phrase your question, start with keywords or a short description of the issue
- The Assistant can help with:
- Abtrac features
- Common workflows
- Troubleshooting guidance
- Best-practice usage
If the response doesn’t fully answer your question, try rephrasing it or adding more detail.
- The Assistant will also respond to commands like:
- Begin, New Conversation, Stop, End, Handover
Understanding the Limitations of the Abtrac AI Assistant
While the Abtrac AI Assistant is a helpful learning tool, it does have limits:
- It cannot see your specific account data
- It cannot make changes to your system
- It may not be able to resolve complex or account-specific issues
If the Assistant can’t answer your question, you can easily hand over to a real support person.
What to do when the Abtrac Assistant isn’t helpful
Handing Over to Abtrac Support
If you need help from a real person, you can Request a Handover in the chat
Type handover into the chat.
When you do this, the Assistant will:
- Acknowledge that it couldn’t resolve your query
- Offer to send an email to the Abtrac Support team on your behalf
- Open a short form within the chat where you can enter:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company
- Your phone number
- A brief description of your issue
Once submitted, your message is sent directly to Abtrac Support and a team member will follow up with you.
Contact Support Directly
If the Assistant doesn’t understand your question you can also contact the Abtrac support team directly during support hours, or reach us by email.
Full support hours, phone numbers, and email details are available on our Contact page here.
How to end your conversation with the Abtrac AI Assistant
When you’ve finished using the Abtrac AI Assistant you can simply close the pop up window to end the session.
