The Windows update released to all Microsoft clients on March 8, 2016 (KB3085515) caused issues logging in and accessing Abtrac data for some users who run Abtrac5 with Microsoft Access versions 2010 and higher.
The update has now been removed from the Windows update lists, and Microsoft will be releasing a new update to solve this issue for those users who retrieved and installed the update that caused problems. The fix has been promised from Microsoft as part of their April Windows updates.
In the interim if you are receiving unexpected messages in Abtrac5 including
- “The code contains a syntax error, or a Microsoft Access function you need is not available.”
- and others detailed here
then it’s recommended that you uninstall the Windows update.
